Black Friday 2013: DSLR Camera Deals From Amazon & Walmart

Black Friday is a great time to buy all items online but it’s especially good for higher end items like computers, phones and cameras. I’ve personally purchased two DSLR cameras on Black Friday over the years and have gotten a great deal both times (at least 30% savings). 2013 is going to be an awesome time to buy a new camera for yourself or as a gift.

DSLR cameras and advanced point-and-shoots have made many leaps forward in their capabilities over the last few years. They’ve gotten smaller, have better displays and make use of more features than they ever have.

With this holiday season quickly approaching, here’s a look at the top DSLR camera deals for Black Friday/Cyber Monday this year.

Best DSLR Camera Deals For Black Friday 2013

Walmart, Amazon and Best Buy are all offering killer deals on DSLR cameras at the end of November. You can expect these to carryover throughout the rest of the holiday season, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday you’ll have the best chance to save some cash on a new digital camera.

I spent some time researching the top digital cameras on the market and took a look at their prices on top retailers.

Nikon D3200

Amazon: $496 | Walmart: $499

The Nikon D3200 is one of my favorite cameras currently on the marketing. I’m a self-admitted Nikonian and this is one of the hottest cameras of the 2013 holiday season. A year or two ago, a camera with these capabilities would cost well over $1,000. You can get it for around half that price this holiday season.

The Nikon D3200 features an awesome sensor (24.2 megapixels) and records full 1080hp video as well. You can record awesome, professional quality home movies on the D3200. It’s extremely lightweight and easy to lug around when you are traveling. The autofocus is quick and responsive as well.

This is a great gift or starter DSLR for a photo junkie! I love the D3200.

Canon EOS Rebel SL1

Amazon: $699 | Walmart: $699

If you are on Team Canon (and so many are!) this is a great mid-range DSLR camera that is very versatile. The 18-55mm lens has great glass and is super quick to focus. If you come across a perfect “Kodak Moment,” this is the camera you want by your side. It has a 9-point auto-focus system that helps you create the perfect image.

Even if your perfect moment is moving fast, the shutter speed is crazy on this camera. You can capture up to 4 frames per second! This DSLR will make you look like a pro! Like the Nikon D3200, the EOS Rebel SL1 shoots full HD video at 1080p and has a wonderful continual focus feature that lets you capture crisp video of fast moving objects.

With a 3″ LCD screen, you can manage your camera and view your photos while you are on-the-move. The EOS Rebel SL1 makes a great deal this Black Friday and holiday season. This is one powerful camera!

Nikon D7100

Amazon: $1,146 | Walmart: $1,449

If you are a pro-am photographer or an experienced DSLR shooter looking to upgrade, the Nikon D7100 is the perfect fit for you! Students or hobbyists who have been shooting with an entry level DSLR will love upgrading to the D7100 and can make use of all the powerful features it has to offer.

What are they? For starters, the D7100 shoots at 6 frames per second and captures images with an ultra-high res 24MP image sensor. My favorite feature is the native ISO that ranges from 100 – a whopping 6400! You could practically shoot in total darkness with the wonderful sensor in this Nikon camera.

While entry level photogs might not require quite a powerful sensor, super creative and advanced photographers will find plenty of great opportunities to flex the muscle that this camera has. The Nikon D7100 has 51 unique focal points that are dynamically selected. You are free to shoot and frame photos however you want and trust the D7100 to have the tools to match your photographic eye.

The WU-1A wireless adapter instantly shares your photos to a smartphone or tablet. No more annoying cables or waiting until you get back home to really analyze your beautiful photos. Like most DSLRs, the D7100 will of course capture magnificent HD video at 1080p.

This is one epic camera and there are great deals right now! Don’t wait to make a move on Nikon’s beautiful D7100.

Pentak K-5

Amazon: $833 | Walmart: N/A

If you are looking for a powerful DSLR outside of the Nikon and Canon corner, I recommend the Pentak K-5. It’s comparable to mid-range DSLRs from the 2 massive camera companies but you can save a little cash by going with Pentak’s version.

The K-5 has a big and bright 3″ LCD screen and the sensor features an ISO range of 80-12800 — perfect for low light and fast action shooting.

The small and lightweight design makes it easy to carry and the DSLR functions beautifully. It’s one of the easiest cameras to shoot with and doesn’t feel hard to use or bulky at all. Kudos to Pentak for the ergonomic design.

With 1080p HD video and RAW image functionality built in, this is a good starter camera or an upgrade from an entry level DSLR. Pentak is an up-and-coming company
